Earth Conservancy was pleased to receive a environmental education grant for $2,996 from the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection to assist in development of its wayside exhibit at the Askam Borehole AMD Treatment System. Design work is already underway with 7th and 8th grade students from Solomon/Plains Jr. High School, under the guidance of teachers Meredith Falchek and Jared Meehan. Fabrication of the interpretive signs and construction of the trail is planned for the summer and fall of 2016. Pictured at left are the students at the Askam site, as part of a tour by our project partner, EPCAMR. Thank you to everyone who is helping make this plan a reality!
